During his lecture , The Governor of Homs, Mr. Talal Al-Barazi, stressed the importance of the symposium, especially that the transition from childhood to youth is a delicate and sensitive stage that requires more care, attention, guidance and advice to immunize the youngsters against the dangers of life and building the society and the future.
In her lecture, Sister Mary Rose Berkill , spoke about the role of the family in the upbringing of children against the challenges that threaten the safety of the family, both externally and internally, and ans about the cultural dispersion caused by the Internet and the media that controls children even in pre-teenage years.
For his part, George Abu Zakhm, Bishop of Homs, called for the need for good awareness and attention to the stage of adolescence in the lives of young people, stressing that the family bears the greatest responsibility in this regard through their understanding and thoughtfulness their needs and enhancing self-confidence.
The symposium included a number of interventions of the attendees, which touched on the psychological changes in adolescents and the importance of planting positive ideas in them and dealing with them honestly as well as the urgent need to seek ways to develop the current status quo in society
